An important show-case for Westcountry artists & designers The 2008 Mythic Garden Sculpture Exhibition opened on Sunday 4th May and will run until the 28th September. The Exhibition displays a diverse selection of over 100 sculptures by 41 artists and designers. Attendance has been good and visitors seem delighted with this year's work. The exhibition is held in our five-acre woodland & water garden in the Dartmoor National Park, displaying National Collections of Birch and Alder trees. We have held summer sculpture exhibitions at the Mythic Garden annually since l992. During these years the trees have matured to create tall copses and secretive sculpture sites. The National Collections of Birch and Alder that we hold here provide a unifying aspect to the very varied work we display. The land slopes and twists interestingly to allow individual sculptures their own frames and to prevent the visual disturbance of seeing several pieces at once.

Disabled Access
The Garden is set on a sloping site, with a level, stony drive
leading into the top half of the arboretum; which consists of
groupings of trees with grass areas between. This area slopes
downhill to the second half of the garden; which is accessed by
narrow paths, some soft, some stone paths and various sets of steps.
We only have a standard toilet, but it is at ground level. During the
low season all visitors can park in our farmyard immediately by the entrance.
The above information is intended to be informative to those who feel they may have difficulty negotiating the garden. We do not advertise as being suitable for people with walking difficulties, but will make every effort to assist and help you enjoy your visit. If in any doubt, please phone us for a chat. 01647 231311.
